2007

I haven't blogged in quite some time, but my brother/cousin inspired me to begin again. I hope to create a family blog soon, but in the mean time I thought I would do another "reflection" type post.
So, here's to 2007...

Memories from this year...
  • We began the year with friends and family at our house on New Year's Eve. My best friends kids were here too, and we rang in the New Year with kids in our arms.
  • Alaina performed in Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Annie Camp, and had her first lead as Tessie in Annie Jr. She continued to dance and really showed improvement in both dance and voice.
  • Alaina finished second grade and began third. She made new friends, went to the High School Musical Concert and the Hannah Montana concert! She discovered Webkinz and had a great time with those. She also lost most of her teeth and spent the year unable to eat apples or corn on the cob.
  • Sam finished kindergarten at a second grade reading level, played baseball, football, and discovered his love of basketball. He has remained a happy kid who loves life!
  • Sam won the first grade class spelling contest and is ready to win nationals next year. : )
  • Nate went to preschool at JCCC for the first half of the year and then began going to the "big kids" school with his brother and sister. He loves having preschool every day, and he is a great peer model.
  • Nate fell in love with two girls this year, Eden and Vanessa. He has prayed for them every night since they were born, and simply loves babies (who would have guessed?)
  • I survived my 2nd and 3rd semesters of nursing school and finished both semesters with a 4.0.
  • We spent the first half of the year anxiously awaiting the birth of the newest members of our family. We rejoiced at the miracle of both of them!
  • We EMBRACED our summer! We discovered the Shawnee pool and Nate discovered the diving board with his big brother! We had lazy days and enjoyed them. We spent evenings at The Theatre in the Park and decided we liked Fiddler on the Roof best!
  • We spent a week at the beach with cousins and friends. We enjoyed every minute, and learned how long a car ride home can be without air conditioning.
  • We prayed for Grandma Betty when she had her stroke, for Grandma Bernice when her cancer returned, and we said good-bye to Grandma Wagner.
  • I saw all of my cousins at the same time, and appreciated them even more after being in a car accident just a day before.
  • Jeremy quit his job and we started our own business. He is home in the mornings, and we spend more time together as a family.
  • I made and lost friends, and grew closer to my family.
  • I saw God work in amazing ways in my life and in the lives of those around me.
  • I was blessed more time than I can count, but more people than I could have imagined.

I am so thankful for each person in my life, and I pray for miracles for each of them in the coming year.
